Born in 1972 and growing up in Moscow, Alexander Nepokoychitskiy turned to making pipes as a hobby after attending the Moscow Aviation Institute of Technology. Using Italian briar and German ebonite, he is completely self taught, studying the best examples of Russian and Danish artisans to improve the smoking qualities of his pipes.
