Sara and Love draw from a wide range of inspiration in their work, from the natural world to mathematics and geometry. It is no surprise, then, to find that their eye for complexity of form would take rather naturally to the Blowfish. The most notable attribute of this specimen is the way the two pipemakers have brought the front and rear panels to a terminus at the very bottom of the bowl, creating a fin-like effect. This stylistic choice also means that the eye is drawn upward to the front of the bowl, lending the pipe a sense of playful dynamism. This sense of forward motion is complemented by the relative straightness and proportion of the shank, which maintain a sense of balance.

On the whole, this is an exceptionally lovely piece that does not sacrifice functionality and comfort.
