Grechukhin: Partially Sandblasted Rhodesian

Product Number: 002-196-0009

Another example of his signature use of canted beadlines, here Vladimir Grechukhin has put an interesting spin on the classic Rhodesian shape, setting the bowl to a strong forward cant while orienting the shape's signature beadlines diagonally — in turn producing a bit of asymmetry between the harder taper along the fore and the more rounded style of aft. He's kept that playful turn as the visual focus on the composition here as well, pairing the bowl to a deep, subtly elongated transition and a low-profile oval shank and stem configuration; what's more, he's kept the overall finish dark and understated, with the majority of the stummel sporting a low-profile, jet-black sandblast and a smooth-polished, ruby finish lent to those aforementioned beadlines, rim, and shank side of the stem base. The result keeps the aesthetic focus on the bowl, while bringing out a good bit of definition to the block's grain pattern, yet never once compromising the design's interesting lines.
