Much likes its brethren, the Apple, the Ball is a shape which can, with the right guiding hand, exemplify everything the Danish school does best, i.e. plump softness playing against clean, bold lines. Jeff is, of course, exactly the guiding hand to pull off that kind of harmony, just as he balances the visual weight of the bowl against a slow but deliberate arc along the bamboo shank to the saddle stem, itself employing negative space to balance some of that aforementioned visual weight.
