It's not often you see a Canadian measuring nearly nineteen centimetres long still only weigh in at a shade over 40g, but here one is. And, of course, it's the work of Ontarian carver Michael Parks, whose craggy, lightweight sandblasts and bold renditions of classic shapes have made him a staple of collectors everywhere.

Besides being almost impossibly light, this bold Canadian bears a stunning sandblast, with blasted birdseye gracing both cheeks of the tall, proudly upright bowl, and ring grain emanating from the right side of the slender shank to both the over and undersides.
