While Savinelli as a brand has evolved considerably over the decades, Punto Oro has remained a mainstay since the founding of the modern era of Savinelli pipes--when the factory in Barasso opened--in the late 1950s. A very small percentage of Savinelli's production qualify for the gold dot, and the pipes are finished to an exacting standard. Today, the Punto Oro line is organized into a few groups with specific characteristics, with Gold being the most common, available in a beautiful medium brown smooth and a very fetching dark red / black sandblasted finish.
