Tom Eltang: Rusticated Arne Jacobsen with Horn

Product Number: 002-202-0021

Arne Jacobsen was a towering figure in twentieth century architecture. Perhaps we might say that he was to Danish design what Tom Eltang is to Danish pipe making. What I appreciate most about Jacobsen is that his aesthetic wasn't confined to large-scale public projects, to hotels, city halls, and embassies. Indeed, some of his most celebrated works are the simple and the commonplace. He designed chairs; he created the perfect ashtray.

In a similar fashion Tom Eltang has created (indeed, this update features) some stunning and complex compositions. But Tom brings that same rigor, the same creative energies to bear on simple classics like this straight Dublin. It is a fitting tribute to one who, like Tom, has been such a force in his field.
