Though not opposed to the occasional exotic wood accent, Claudio Cavicchi isn't generally one for using alternative materials in the actual carving of his pipes. When he does, however, it's almost exclusively bamboo, and of those bamboo pieces, this is a standout. Pairing a broad and fanning Dublin bowl to a lithe stretch of natural black bamboo, his neoclassical sensibilities are emphasised by the delicate transition and slender shank.

Finished in a warm walnut on blonde contrast stain, fine striations of flame grain cover the bowl walls, while the gently sloped rim bears a dense constellation of birdseye swirls.
