Savinelli's Marco Polo series commemorates the life and work of Marco Polo, one of the world's most famous Venetians. Released in 2024 to coincide with the 700th anniversary of Polo's death, it celebrates the prolific explorer and historian whose extensive adventures throughout Asia in the late 13th century led not only to a greater understanding of Asian cultures in Europe but also to the establishment of diplomatic relationships between these countries and Italy. Savinelli's celebratory series comprises a single elegant finish across a single shape, dressing the muscular "111 KS" Billiard in a fine, texture-rich rustication and inky stain. This dark palette is complemented by a tapering stem of jet-black acrylic, its base punctuated by an acrylic band of vibrant ruby tones — a playful nod a nod to Polo's iconic hat — that lends this line some richly understated contrast.
