When you first picture a Tom Eltang pipe, it's usually his signature designs that come to mind: the Poker, Eskimo, and Devil Anse shapes. While Tom's experimentation and creativity have yielded some really novel interpretations, let us not forget how exceptional of an artisan he really is. Even when dealing with the most classic of forms, like this straight, oval-shanked Billiard for example, his meticulous, perfectionist eye for detail and linework is strikingly evident.

Though much scaled up from his Arne Jacobsen inspired pieces, this Billiard still sports some trim, sleek lines overall. True to the classic Danish canon, it features a slightly pronounced waistline set near the base of the bowl. Paired with a supple taper up to the lofty rim, it's natural and comforting in the hand, not to mention quite elegant in profile. Fitting to such a classic, Tom's chosen to dress this piece in a traditional Danish style sandblast — extra dark and extra light, bringing out loads of texture while still keeping the form's defining lines and overall silhouette clean and refined.
