Bill Shalosky: Rusticated Dublin (419)

Product Number: 002-216-0005

True to Bill's knack for pleasant combinations of form and proportion — typically imbued with a sense of full-bodied curvature — this straight Dublin exudes a sense of streamlined boldness and muscularity. The fact that I've never seen a straight Dublin from his bench before this one is not only beside the point, but actually neatly illustrates it — as even with this unfamiliar shape Bill's typical shaping aesthetic is effortlessly utilised to propel the pieces's heavy visual weight forward from its tapered stem. Rendered from one of multiple briar blocks that boast over a decades' worth of age in Bill's cellar as he waited for the perfect time and inspiration to carve them, it features a concisely dimpled style of rustication wearing a dark stain, paired to a cumberland stem.
