Dunhill: Bremen Town Musicians Shell Briar (3106) (29/30)
Product Number: 002-210-0239
Dunhill's special-edition box sets are among the English workshop's most collectible offerings, showcasing singular shapes and intricate tampers and crafted in extremely limited quantities. The Bremen Town Musicians set celebrates the famed Brothers Grimm story of the same name, and it's the second Dunhill series to draw inspiration from the iconic story tellers. First published in Grimms' Fairy Tales in 1819, the narrative tells of four animals — a donkey, a dog, a cat, and a rooster — who leave the suffering of their human masters to become musicians in the town of Bremen. Along the way, they encounter a gang of bandits, and after evading capture, the animals take control of the bandits' hideout, deciding to live there in peace together instead of continuing to Bremen.
Like Dunhill's other special box sets, this pipe represents a singular shape and comes housed in a leather-bound, book-style box. It's a Group 3 rendition of the English workshop's classic "06" Pot, and this exclusive rendition is elevated by a sterling silver band emblazoned with "B" for Bremen and a sterling silver rim cap engraved with "The Town Musicians of Bremen — 100 Years". A sterling silver tamper completes the collection, depicting the four animals stacked pyramid atop a drum. This particular example wears darkly sandblasted Shell Briar — representing one of only 30 pipes made in the finish and serialized as number 29.
