Max Rimensi, the carver behind Il Duca pipes, is able to seamlessly transition between traditional renditions of classic shapes and overtly organic designs throughout his portfolio. This Bent Dublin is a stunning example of the Italian artisan's immaculate craftsmanship and creativity, incorporating and highlighting several of his signature design cues.

The bowl flares in overt Dublin fashion and is remarkably squat, longer than it is wide and creates a lenticular shaped when viewed from above. The transition sits tucked away underneath the bulging rim, the negative space around it drawing further focus toward the bowl. Paired to a jet-black vulcanite stem and a three knuckle stretch of black bamboo, Max has finished the bowl in a rugged sandblast, coaxing out waves of ring grain and blasted bird's eye graining underneath the bowl's dark stain. All combined it offers an unconventional study in grain patterns, shaping, and finishing.
