Lasse Skovgaard — son of renowned pipe maker Benni Jorgensen and well regarded artisan who started his own pipe making career at the W.Ø. Larsen factory at only 18 — is remarkably talented when it comes to rendering organically inclined shapes, and with its sweeping curves and soft lines, this Acorn most certainly qualifies as that. Offering impressive graining, elegance, and the kind of deft execution we've come to expect from the Danish carver.

With a low-slung and well-defined transition leading into a pinched, triangular shank in a powerful arc to finally meet the elegantly bent saddle stem, it's finished simply in  a warm mahogany stain that splendidly highlights parallel lines of grain that extend completely around the bowl and plateau partially smoothed across the rim.
