Like many pipe manufacturers, Rattray's produces a singular, limited-edition shape for their Pipe of the Year. For 2023 they've designed a panelled Billiard with bevelled edges and a tall, upright bowl that lends a strong sense of geometry to the composition. The shank end and stem base feature metallic accents, offering the chic elegance of a spigot mount but with a standard mortise and tenon — drilled to accommodate a 9mm filter, of course — with the shank accent etched with a Celtic depiction of a Rabbit in honour of 2023's Chinese Zodiac sign. Available in six finishes, Rattray's 2023 Pipe of the Year is limited to 300 pieces.
