At its most popular back in the 1950s, the Opera pipe was the go-to piece for the gent catching a show. With an oval shaped bowl making for a low profile, it fit nicely into a breast pocket without disturbing the lines of the smoker's ensemble — particularly handy during an occasion when a larger pocketed coat would have been checked at the door.
