While better known for her signature pencil shanks, Scottie Piersel is no stranger to either old-school classics or outsized, near ODA proportioned pipes. As the "Oversized" title indicates, this is one of the latter, filling out the palm and offering a chamber of considerable breadth. Despite its colossal size and correspondingly muscular proportions, it sports a grace and gesture in profile that brings to mind some of those older, timeless designs of the early 20th century. Featuring one of her pleasantly textured sandblasts, the rim is crisply chamfered and finished smooth, while the aquatic feeling hues of the Cumberland stem contrast perfectly with the warm tone of the red/brown finish.
