The Bulldog has become something of a signature shape for Werner Mummert. It's easy to see why, with the form naturally lending itself to Werner's playful tendencies. Here, he takes the panels and lines that characterise the English classic and exaggerates them, imbuing the piece with an angular aesthetic that contrasts with the round bowl, domed rim, and, with this particular pipe, an extra craggy sandblast that imparts an organicism at odds with the otherwise industrial nature of the piece's lines, complemented perfectly by a black Vulcanite stem inlaid with polymerised corn leaves.
