Werner Mummert: Sandblasted Bent Brandy with Masur Birch (9mm)

Product Number: 002-203-0028

German artisan Werner Mummert is among the most distinctive and innovative carvers working today. His inventive approach to shaping and unmistakable finishes make his work highly sought after, and with good reason. This bent Brandy is an excellent example of Mummert's muscular shaping style and signature craggy sandblast, featuring a plump bowl that tapers smoothly upward from an extra chubby waist. With a stout, if abbreviated, shank meeting a low transition that extends into the heel in a defined "V" shape — flaring outward as it moves back toward the stem.

Dressed in Mummert's signature sandblast with exceptionally defined ring grain around the bowl, it's contrasted deftly by a smooth rim, a spalted masur birch shank cap, and a sleek tapered stem of Cumberland that both matches the mahogany stain on the stummel while simultaneously adding a counterpoint to it's girth.
